About Japanese Language NAT-TEST (PBT)

The Japanese Language NAT-TEST is an examination that measures the Japanese language proficiency of students who are not native Japanese speakers. Paper-Based Testing (PBT) is the traditional format of the exam, where candidates answer questions on paper at designated test centers.

The tests are separated by different (five levels) and general proficiency is measured in three areas: Grammar/Vocabulary, Listening and Reading Comprehension. The format of the exam and the types of questions are based on those that often appear on the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT).

PBT exams are held on specific dates throughout the year. Candidates must register in advance and bring their admission tickets to the exam venue.
